3 uncommon ways to make money while on vacation.

Travelling to a new place can be an expensive endeavour but there are many ways you can make money on vacation.

I am sure you are not looking for common ideas if you are looking at my post now. I will not be suggesting you look up online jobs, selling travel photographs, renting out your car or house.

No, I don’t think those are good ideas if you want to travel in peace and enjoy your trip. Here are a few uncommon ways to make money while on vacations from me.

1- Buy local products and sell them online

Find the unique/niche products from where ever it is that you are visiting and then reselling them wherever back home or in other parts of the world. It’s quick work because there isn’t much effort needed beyond finding what items will be easy sells so they can get liquidated quickly once bought.

For example, buy Russian nesting dolls if you are traveling in Russia. Sell them online at the time during your vacation or you can do it after the trip. Talk to the seller, get a discount and sell them with a story.

2- Sell your travel itinerary

Plan and budget your trip well. You can later sell your travel itinerary and experience on some websites. Research and plan before your trip, talk to the locals when you are in the country, get tips and suggestions from them. Enjoy your trip and sell your itinerary, experiences, photographs to the websites for money. Here are some websites to sell travel itineraries.

3- Couchsurfing

Couch surfers provide their homes as temporary accommodations during periods when they are not using them themselves, typically with short-term visitors or tourists who cannot afford expensive hotel rates (or have other reasons why hotels won’t work for them).

If you’re traveling and looking for a cheap place to stay, couch surf! You don’t need any specific qualifications or experience. Simply find somebody who has an extra room (or couch) they aren’t using that’s near your destination and send them a message asking if it would be okay to come over. The host can charge $20-$100 per night which isn’t bad considering many hotels cost around this much as well these days anyway!

You can offer your expertise to the host for free stay and allowance. You can offer a travel landing page for the host if you are a web designer. Sell your food recipes if you are a cooker.
