Wei Dao Jiang Hu has expanded their business and they are doing Szechuan Hot Pot just next to their restaurant. Lap Cheong and me went to try the hot pot and i am here writing the review of it.
We had the combination soup base @ RM18. Half for chicken soup and half for hot and spicy soup. I strongly recommend you to take the combination soup even if you can take very hot and spicy food. The chicken soup was surprisingly good, it does taste like herbal chicken soup that boiled for long time. It was better than the hot and spicy soup.
The menu and order list. [ Click for larger image ] The menu is same with Xiao Fei Yang restaurant. What you can get from Xiao Fei Yang, you can get it from here. They have barbeque section too, so you can order some lamb skewers, chicken wings and rolled bacon.
The sauce counter. You can get whatever sauce that you like from here for unlimited time. They have many types of dipping sauce. From fresh chopped green onions, sesame oil, Lao Gan Ma chili crisp sauce, soy sauce, garlic, fried onion, peanuts, peanut sauce and more! But you have to pay for the dipping sauce too. RM2 per pax.Pickled cabbage @ RM8 is a must order if you are having hot and spicy hotpot. It goes very well with hot and spicy soup. Fresh prawn paste @ RM15 This was strongly recommended by the lady boss. The prawn paste was so-so and the portion is really small for RM15. Not recommended. Cuttlefish pork ball @ RM8. There were 8 pieces of it but they cut them in half. Special pork ball aka Explosion pork ball @ RM8. Hot gravy or soup will explode inside your mouth when you take a bite of this pork ball. Luncheon meat @ RM10. Not recommended. The luncheon meat was the healthy version of luncheon meat. It was firmer but lack of taste. We were like chewing a meat taste of harder version tofu. Fresh mushroom @ RM8. Goes well with hot and spicy soup. Dong Bei Dumpling @ RM8. Chives and pork dumpling. Thinly sliced pork belly @ RM12. Homemade Noodles @ Rm5. Chewy and full in flavor once you cooked them in the soup. Rolled bacon with enoki skewer @ RM3 per stick. We had grilled chicken wings too. The grilled food was good but too much of cumin powder on it.
We paid RM70+ for the meal. Price is really reasonable as you get what you pay. Good soup, good sauce, fresh and tasty food, good service too. Nothing to complain and we will definitely go back for the hotpot.
